BATS (2023)
BATS is a site-specific, interdisciplinary performance searching for the interplay between animals and humans and an exploration of the coexistence of both in urban spaces.
Using DIY electronics and modular synthesizers, the bats’ ultrasonic frequencies are translated into a spectrum perceptible to humans in multi-sensory experiential spaces and musical compositions. BATS expands an anthropocentric understanding of silence (in urban space) by sensitizing participants to other sensory worlds.

Who are the witches of today?
At which clusters do we come together for rituals?
How can we celebrate consensus?
Based on the Lusatian spring custom of "witch burning" (Upper Sorbian: Chodojtypalenje), DIE SOZIALE FIKTION searches for queer rituals and forms of coming together. The tongues of the title are both method and material: the group speaks different languages, talks about their origins and traditions and licks the sweat from our hot skin. We gather for a counter ritual in which we become the witches who were not burned. The group leads us unexpectedly casually through the evening in witch drag, telling us about their mythological ancestors and everyday magic. Accompanied by witchy sound, a performance by the feminist, Sorbian rap act Kolektiw Klanki and an expansive installation for touching and hanging out, a maelstrom of stories and textures is created, culminating in a burning pile.
